Weighing the Pros and Cons of Dating Your Best Friend?

Every best-friend relationship starts from somewhere, it may have been an awkward hi-hi moment or a childhood neighbor turned best friend but mine was different. My bff liked me then (don’t know about now??) and then slid into my dm to get to know me better and as God would have it, I no gree?.

I did the typical every girl’s shakara (playing hard to get) moment because I was truly not interested and I just didn’t want anything to do with him so, I became a bit rude, snobbish, etc just to push him away from my life but he no gree?‍♀️.

So, we stayed friends instead. Once in a while we he would check up on me and I’d give a one-word response or ignore or block him (I had a thing for blocking people I didn’t like or wanted to ignore and push out of my life?‍♀️)… don’t look at me I was a teenager and ignorant of my childish ways.

However, as time grew by, I grew really fond of him as he was caring, funny, and truly always there for me, no questions asked (let me stop there before his head starts swelling ?) but he didn’t have the sense – I mean this in the best way possible so, I never really put so much thought of us dating or ending up together as life partners – even though it crossed my mind a few times, until one faithful night?.

We talked about “us” (peradventure, he said) again and it struck me then and there… what if it eventually happens?? I mean, what if, right?

But really, is dating or marrying your best friend a good idea? Like any other relationship, there are pros and cons to consider. Let’s take a closer look at them.
